Building a Community for People in Pain

You are not alone

The Bayer Foundation is dedicated to building an international community where people with chronic pain can reach out for help. We believe these tools will improve their sense of well-being by knowing they are not alone and encourage them to take a more active role in their recovery. We will do this by offering an international network with an emphasis on evidence-based educational resources; a resource where people in pain and communicate directly through social media with each other and clinical and leading research experts, as well as a Pain Hotline to support those in crisis.

Our Goals

Build a private social media site where patients will have the freedom to interact together, share their stories, and discuss the variety of treatment options. This site will be monitored by experts to ensure fake or misleading information is removed and the community informed.

Collaborate with a Crisis Hot Line Organization to develop a country dedicated hot line for patients in crisis.

Our Plan

  1. Promote our FB, Instagram, and create a BlueSky discussion boards and invite individuals to join by utilize existing audiences. We will promote our group on other social media channels (like Instagram or Twitter), our website, and through email newsletters. Volunteers will be encouraged to invite their friends to join and ask them to share the group with their networks.

  2. Utilize ads when we have the budget, target ads to people who fit our audience demographics and interests, directing them to our group.

  3. Collaborate with a Crisis Hot Line Organization that specializes in medical support hot lines. For example, we have initiated conversations with Through Line Care, an international hot line support company.
